Zombie Theorem The Culling Book One eBook James Wallace

Such a wonderful first book. I loved Dan and Brian - such great characters and so easy to relate to both of them. One the everyday, "geeky" supervisor guy and the other more the "he-man", military, tactical guy. Together they make quite a team forced to deal with a virus, a locked office building, friends and coworkers turning into monsters, a sinister cabal, and ultimately a world turning into chaos. JR successfully brings the reader into this new world, showing Dan go from nerdy boss to a well respected member of the survival team, showing his intelligence and ability to respond in critical stressful situations. There is plenty of Z action, fighting, survival tips, suspense, a few tears, some laughter and oh yes, a cliff hanger. Already anticipating the next book. Well done JR. I received an ARC/BETA ( advanced reader copy) of this book, my review is based on my true and honest opinion, besides I also bought it. Loved it,

Zombie Theorem The Culling Book One eBook James Wallace Reviews

Wow! If you love zombie books then do I have one for you! This is the first book by James Wallace I have read and it won’t be the last!!!

Most zombie book follow the same theme. The dead have arisen and are attacking the living and they must be killed. This book it told from a different point of view and it makes it refreshing and very engrossing.

It starts as Dan the main character is on his way to work and he notices that the bus is strangely empty as are the streets. He lives in Los Angeles so this is strange but he chalks it up to it being early and that the commuters have just not gotten up and out quite yet. He arrives to work in a big office building. He is a member of the management team and the security staff are huddled around a monitor. They buzz him inside and he goes upstairs. When he arrives he notices that the office on his floor is kinda quiet and deserted. He goes into his office and makes a pot of coffee from his personal stash. One of his favorite things. While he is waiting for it to brew he goes out into the office and notices that several people that are there are either on the phone or watching something on their phones. He questions another assistant manager about what is going on and is told that there has been a horrible outbreak of a strange sickness that appears to have been brought over from overseas and that people are dying. He calls a staff meeting and informs everyone that if they want to go home they can and it won’t be held against them. Several people leave. A little while later he goes to the bathroom and finds one of the employees in the bathroom on the toilet and unresponsive. This man has just come back from the place that the disease has started from. He goes and gets another employee and they check on him. He is dead so they decide to put him in the janitors closet. After they do this another staff meeting it called and things go from bad to worse. Now you know I’m not telling you anymore of what goes on because that would just ruin the story.
this book is like a hurricane in that the front wall has passed, wreaking havoc, destroying much you may hold dear but there is still something left to lose..and, even as you take a few deep breaths as the calm of the eye of the storm passes over you, you have to steal yourself for the damage yet to come.

This book is written as a narrative in the first person (which I normally don't like and refuse to read) from the point of view of a guy who generally does his job but is no one's hero. He doesn't even realize that he as the potential to be a strong lead.

When he combines his natural leadership skills with his new-found friend, Brian's, tactical skill, they become a strong team, taking out zombies but having a little fun and getting to know one another along the way.

This is the author's first book. I bought it, didn't get a beta copy to read so if it were bad I would say so, without hesitation...it isn't bad at all. In fact, it's damned good. I highly recommend this book to zombie effecionadios.
You have two heroes; one former military and one an analyst. Brian and Dan, at first, are a very unlikely duo to be battling flesh eating Zombies. One is built like a sherman tank; the other just an ordinary man trying to survive. Well, their world was turned upside down one day when people started dying and coming back to life. They both had to fight their way out of their office building; both just trying to stay one step ahead of the horde that are closing in on them. They lose people along the way, of course. They are finally rescued and as Dan tells his story to Detective Reynolds, he is actually believed. The pandamonium that is going on in San Francisco overwhelms all. They become part of an elite military unit and Dan is way out of his element. Except that he isn't; he's an analyst after all. And the military need someone who can analyze a situation and come up with solutions. And Dan is the perfect person for the task. I don't want to say anything more, because i will spoil the book for you. I have read Zombie books in the past and this one is different than all the others. It is NOT predictable. It is suspenseful. You never know what is going to happen next. A very enjoyable read and definitely worth your time. I can't wait to get my teeth into Book 2.
Zombie Theorem The Culling Book one I love this series! The characters are awesome and the story has much of what is lacking in other zombie tales that I've read. For one, the government doesn't just fall off the face of the earth and leave survival to "every man for himself." Second, the characters are genuine and you are immersed in their lives right from the start. And they can be a hoot. As I was finishing this book I could not buy book 2 fast enough. So, Third - it literally starts with the next sentence from the end of the first novel. LOVE THAT. If you are looking for a new Zombie Apocalypse series to read, give this one a go - you owe it to yourself.
